I am a very fortunate & blessed man. I’ve worked in a profession I’ve enjoy since I was 12 years old. As a professional agronomist, I was the golf course superintendent at Colonial Country Club (Fort Worth, Texas) home an annual PGA Tour event. Following that experience I started a golf course consulting firm & partnered with some terrific people in the golf business, most notably Bryon Nelson, & travelled the world consulting on golf course.
Eleven and half years ago, I was unexpectedly diagnosed with leukemia, a disease which could have taken my life. I was shocked! Leukemia was not one of my short, medium or long range goals. I endured 5 rounds of chemo over an eight month period culminating in a successful stem cell transplant on May 12, 2006. This was my new “birthday” and my second chance at life. On that day I became a survivor!
This journey was an eye-opener for me. It was filled with a great deal of uncertainty & what I call “un-good moments.” However, it was also filled with life lessons, strategies & huge victories that changed almost every aspect of my life. I was successful in business, however I was missing out on life. My cancer journey changed my priorities & lead me to a true purpose.
