Don Armstrong – Argonomist

Don started his professional career as an assistant golf course superintendent at Colonial County,Fort Worth,Texas(March 1978 – January 1981).  During this 3 year time frame he was involved in the preparation of the golf course for 3 PGA Tour events.  He also took part in the renovation of all 18 greens during this period.  In 1982 Don returned as the golf course superintendent at the prestigious Colonial Country Club and participated in the preparation of the golf course for 6 additional PGA Tour events (1982 – 1987). He was a founding partner of the Golf Resources Group in 1988.  As the agronomist for Golf Resources he provided consulting services throughout the United States,Japan and Scotland on numerous daily fee, municipal, country club and resort golf courses.  In this role he has consulted on top golf courses including the TPC at Deere Run, Loch Lomond, The Boulders, Troon & Troon North,Nevisand the TPC Las Colinas.  Don holds a degree in Agronomy from Virginia Tech (1977).
Don is proud of his son David, who recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and who also lives in Fort Worth…close enough to celebrate life’s accomplishments with. Don Armstrong, Runner, Father, Motivational Speaker
Between his job, running, coaching, writing and speaking, Don is constantly on the go.  It is his dream to teach others to win their race and to be there to offer guidance, courage and a positive spirit whenever possible.

Don Armstrong is a leukemia survivor having endured five (5) rounds of chemo and a stem cell transplant in May 2006.  He is an avid marathon runner having completed over 20 marathons to-date.  10 since his stem cell transplant.  Don is also an author and motivational speaker.  He teaches others to win their race in all areas of life with courage, confidence, grace and a positive spirit.  Don resides in Fort Worth, Texas.  You or your organization may contact Don at Don@FinishYourRace.com or 817/ 917-5919 for information about his speaking availability.
