Don Armstrong was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia on Sept. 14, 2005. He was inspired to write an essay thanking the nurses and other medical professionals who helped him during his journey from diagnosis, treatment and recovery after a peripheral stem cell blood transplant and as a result of the care he received at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas.
